Feel free to claim that I'm somehow abandoning "progressive principles" by running the ad. It's a free country. Feel free to storm off in a huff. Other deserving bloggers could use the patronage.
Although I hadn't seen the ad, I decided to accept his invitation to leave. I wondered where to go to find the diarists that I'd enjoyed there. A group of women decided to discuss the issue here which I agree is a good idea, but I do have a complaint about the name of the blog because the term "kossack" refers to the sexist pig, Markos, who is so dismissive of women's issues and I don't consider myself a female kossack.
My favorite choice is Booman Tribune as an excellent alternative to DailyKOS. Feminists, women and men are welcomed there, the ambiance is progressive and the diaries are interesting. I especially like the regional categories.
I'm truly sorry that I once purchased an over-priced advertisement on DailyKOS. I'm a "buy blue" proponent and although Markos is a Democrat, he isn't progressive enough to deserve my hard-earned money. I won't be advertising there again. In fact, it's about time for me to run another ad at Booman's.

Why aren't there any posts to this entry? DKos run by sexist pig is just the matter. That and the comment made by the Harvard administrator that there were not more women in math and science because..... I suppose he was saying it was genetics.
Now the ad did not bother me, and I am not a sexist pig. I am a sexist, but not a pig. I strongly believe in the difference in the sexes that affects their views, their emotional language, and their contributions... but does not limit their abilities in any way.
Because the ad did not offend me does not mean it's not offensive. It was and is. And it caused a lot of hurt.
And Kos was an ass about it.
Since then I think he has come off as someone who is a sexist pig and proud of it. Tell me what you think.

Thank you for your comments. I found your views to be thoughtful and insightful and I agree that there are gender differences, however, I don't think that a person who recognizes that gender differences exist is automatically a sexist unless that person believes that the qualities of one gender are superior to the other. I don't believe women are superior to men or vice versa.
I'm interested in the reasons you give for identifying yourself as sexist.
I admit that the "pie fight" ad didn't offend me either. I'm accustomed to seeing those images all the time. I'm not necessarily proud of the fact that the ad didn't offend me. I think it probably should have, but Markos' response was what pissed me off and I'm still pissed.

Yes Kos is a sexist pig and a fake Democrat. You know what he is? He's a paid tool of the establishment. Kos is what's known as a left gatekeeper, someone who pretends to be a leftist enough to build up (phony) street cred and then uses his position to channel discourse away from areas that make the establishment nervous. He's a fake, and a great example of how the establishment tries to control both sides of a debate; they have their undisguised conservative mouthpieces, and "opposing" them are fake progressive sites like Daily Kos, Democratic Underground, Moxie Grrrl, etc. and their counterparts in other media such as Michael Moore, Noam Chomsky, Alexander Cockburn, Bill Maher, Amy Goodman etc. whose job is to pretend to oppose the conservatives but in actuality to keep the discussion within "safe" parameters. Spread the word, Kos is a left gatekeeper.
